Partnership in surgery supports surgical best practices to enable the next generation of data-driven surgeons to improve skills, grow surgical practices, and enhance outcomes for patients
BOSTON— Nov. 29, 2022— Caresyntax, the leading vendor-neutral enterprise surgical data platform, today announced its partnership with Google Cloud. The partnership brings Caresyntax together with Google Cloud and its Service Partners to develop an innovative, direct-to-surgeon application called InfluenceOR™. The newly developed app empowers existing and aspiring “data-driven surgeons” (those who use existing and novel data sets to visualize, supplement, and continuously improve technical proficiency and surgical outcomes) to assess, publish, and promote qualified surgical videos on YouTube while building brand recognition and reputation. Data-driven surgeons can also integrate videos with other data sets to provide insight into patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and profitability. They also can improve surgical skills, support patient education, and increase referrals, while earning Continuing Medical Education (CME). InfluenceOR will create qualified surgical videos on YouTube to share with patients, referring physicians, hospitals, and insurers to address the need for curated, quality surgical content online.
Over the years, studies have shown that people, including medical students and surgeons, come to YouTube seeking health information and education. With InfluenceOR, Caresyntax is providing high-quality surgical videos that have been vetted by Board-certified Reviewers using industry standard assessments.
“This collaboration will help surgeons build their practices and grow their referral network by demonstrating surgical skill and procedure quality,” says Dennis Kogan, CEO of Caresyntax. “It is going to help patients who are in need of accurate information, make an informed decision on where to get the best care, and for hospitals, it will be a valuable tool for finding top surgeons, reducing risk, and reassuring patients of clinicians’ commitment to quality outcomes.”
The InfluenceOR app is built on Google Cloud’s secure, scalable infrastructure, and leverages Google Cloud SQL, Google Cloud Storage and Google Memorystore to manage surgical videos, surgical outcomes and perioperative efficiency measures securely and efficiently. Hyperscaling is enabled with the Google Kubernetes and the Google Cloud Load Balancer. Surgical Videos and associated metadata are connected to YouTube with the YouTube Data and Analytics API. Other Google Cloud capabilities that can be leveraged include Vertex AI for development of machine learning models, Healthcare Data Engine, and Healthcare API.
“Caresyntax is supporting an innovative approach to surgical education, which can help promote safer surgical technique, reduce variability of care, and improve outcomes for patients,” said Alissa Hsu Lynch, global lead of Healthcare and Life Sciences for Google Cloud. “We look forward to supporting the company with Google Cloud’s leading technology as it grows, scales and becomes a bigger part of the healthcare ecosystem.”
With the InfluenceOR application, Surgeons will be able to easily manage surgical content while also earning CME credits for participating in the program. Caresyntax offers multiple platforms to earn CME credits, alleviating the need for extensive travel and cost to attend industry congresses and events for Board Certification, State licensure, and organizational credentialing. This allows surgeons, hospitals, and practice groups to optimize their time in the operating room.
The number of participants will be limited in the initial launch. Space can be reserved by visiting the Caresyntax InfluenceOR Get the App web page.
About Caresyntax
Caresyntax is on a mission to make surgery smarter and safer. Our enterprise-grade data-driven surgery platform delivers actionable insights to improve patient outcomes by using proprietary software and AI to analyze large volumes of video, audio, images, device data, clinical, and operational data in and around the OR. This real-world evidence can be used by the care team live, during a procedure and accessed by those outside the operating room via the platform’s dedicated telehealth link. After a procedure, the Caresyntax platform provides insights that help surgeons benchmark and improve their care, hospital administrators use surgical resources more efficiently, medical device companies advance better products, and insurance companies understand risk and devise more tailored policies. Headquartered in Boston, Caresyntax software is used in more than 2,800 operating rooms worldwide and supports surgical teams in over three million procedures per year.
