What You Need to Know

Mandatory Participation

On April 10, 2024, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) unveiled the Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM), a proposed mandatory bundled payment model set to launch in January 2026.

Comprehensive Coverage

The five-year model will require 25% of all hospitals in the US to deliver coordinated, high-quality care for traditional Medicare beneficiaries undergoing one of five below surgical procedures, whether in an inpatient or outpatient setting :

Lower extremity joint replacement
Hip femur fracture
Coronary artery bypass graft
Spinal Fusion
Major bowel procedure

Understand Where You Stand

Leading hospitals are using the next 18 months to strategically enhance their readiness across these key procedures. Caresyntax is helping organizations identify vulnerabilities and improve performance with high-impact value analysis. The work led by our own Dr. Bruce Ramshaw has resulted in reduced length of stay (LOS), lower spending on supplies, and improved patient outcomes for targeted procedures.
