Awards honor best and brightest digital health companies; Caresyntax recognized for “Healthcare Analytics Innovation”

Boston (May 6, 2021) – Caresyntax, the leading enterprise-level digital surgery platform delivering actionable insights to make surgery smarter and safer, announced today that it won the “Healthcare Analytics Innovation Award” as part of the 5th Annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards. Caresyntax was recognized out of nearly 4,000 applicants and joins the likes of Zimmer Biomet and Boston Scientific as winners.

Caresyntax’s digital surgery platform uses proprietary software and artificial intelligence to analyze large volumes of real-world data in and around the operating room (OR) in order to deliver insights that can be used immediately by the care team and longer-term by a variety of critical stakeholders, including surgeons, to assess and improve care. Through its platform, Caresyntax also offers virtual, real-time access to outside experts, such as medical school instructors and medical device representatives.

“For the past few years, analytics have consumed nearly every aspect of our lives, from businesses to social media to sports — but the operating room remained one of the lone places with troves of data yet to be uncovered,” said Dennis Kogan, Caresyntax founder and CEO. “Our platform created a new space in the market at the intersection of data collection and analysis that allows hospitals, medtechs, insurers and others to operate more efficiently and improve patient outcomes.”

The MedTech Breakthrough Awards recognize innovative solutions and companies that address a true need, solve a critical problem, and seize an opportunity to revolutionize an industry. The awards program is run by MedTech Breakthrough, an independent market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in the global health and medical technology market.

The award follows recent announcements that Caresyntax was selected by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) for a pilot program incorporating video-based assessments into ABS’ board certification process, began partnerships with the University of Iowa Health Care and the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and raised $100 million in Series C funding.

About Caresyntax

Caresyntax is on a mission to make surgery smarter and safer. Our enterprise-grade digital surgery platform delivers actionable insights to improve patient outcomes by using proprietary software and AI to analyze large volumes of video, audio, images, device data, clinical, and operational data in and around the OR. This real world evidence can be used by the care team live, during a procedure and accessed by those outside the operating room via the platform’s dedicated telehealth link. After a procedure, the Caresyntax platform provides insights that help: surgeons benchmark and improve their care, hospital administrators use surgical resources more efficiently, medical device companies advance better products, and insurance companies understand risk and devise more tailored policies. Headquartered in Boston, Caresyntax software is used in more than 4,000 operating rooms worldwide and supports surgical teams in over two million procedures per year.
