BERLINcaresyntax, a pioneer in surgical automation, performance analytics, and AI, announces the installation of it’s latest technology (4K/3D) in all of the 16 digital operating rooms in Calvary Adelaide, the largest private hospital in South Australia. The installation equips the operating rooms with caresyntax’s digital OR integration platform, and data warehousing software. The project was installed by Wilhelm Integrated Solutions and serves as a testimony to caresyntax’s growing footprint in the Australian market.

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is Adelaide’s newest private hospital and is a $345 million state-of-the-art facility. This hospital replaces the 115-year-old Calvary Wakefield Hospital, that simultaneously closed as the new facility opened. The new hospital has a total of 344 beds – adding an additional 100 beds into the system – as well as 16 operating theatres, a state-first hybrid theatre and offers the only 24/7 private emergency department in the state.

Caresyntax equips the 16 operating rooms with PRIME365, its proprietary OR integration and workflow automation platform. Based on a video-over-IP network infrastructure, the platform allows the surgical team to stream and document surgery with multi-source  ultra-HD video and snapshots. As the hospital is recognized worldwide for its expertise in surgery, the surgeons can use the caresyntax streaming and video conferencing functionality to remotely train other surgeons and students in both technique and best practices.

Finally, caresyntax data warehousing software – qvident – helps to structure recorded surgical data, allowing surgeons to learn from documented cases, and provide interactive trainings for their residents, in lieu of surgical simulations. Apart from using qvident for surgical content management, there is plenty of scope for the hospital management to expand this offering to customised reporting, risk reduction, root-cause analysis, and more.

Calvary Adelaide hospital focuses on all major surgical specialties including orthopaedics, cardiac, neuro, spine, bariatric and colorectal surgery. Together with the hospital, caresyntax shares the common goal of providing exceptional patient care and this starts with the digital operating room.

“We’ve provided a customized, efficient, seamlessly integrated digital operating room enhancing safety, efficiency, and productivity.” said Chad Wilhelm, Managing Director at Wilhelm Integrated Solutions, an Australian company with over 120 years of cumulative experience in design, installation, and commissioning of high-end medical solutions on behalf of caresyntax. “We’ve connected to radiology, pathology, eMR providing a single sign on experience for clinicians saving them time and providing an overall better experience.”
