Dennis Kogan

Dennis Kogan Co-Founder

Graduated from Carnegie Mellon and Harvard Business School with degrees in information technology, finance, and business administration, Dennis has more than 10 years of experience in financial and strategy consulting in the medical device and IT sectors. Originating from a family of surgeons tracing back three generations, he possesses a keen awareness of the impact that new technologies can bring to surgical innovation. Dennis has a vision to expand the caresyntax® product and operations to new heights and new markets. He understands the challenges of the digital health industry, having co-founded and run two companies himself before co-founding caresyntax®.

Björn von Siemens

Björn von Siemens Co-Founder

Hailing from a family of tech industrialists and medical thought leaders, Björn possesses a native drive and understanding for applying technologies to solve challenges in healthcare. Björn earned his M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and B.Sc. from European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, where he graduated in the top 3% and 10% of his class respectively. He conducted several years of postgraduate research at the University of St. Gallen as well as at Harvard University and Harvard Business School. Prior to founding caresyntax®, Bjoern was active as an investor and advisor for technology ventures. He is a recognized thought-leader in the areas of applied IoT and AI technologies in healthcare.

Dennis Michael Brown Senior Advisor

Mr. Brown has worked in the healthcare field in nine different countries for a total of thirty-nine years. He served as the CEO of Bumrungrad Hospital, Thailand, and also as the CEO of Bumrungrad International Limited, an associate company of Bumrungrad Hospital. Prior to joining Bumrungrad, he held executive positions for US-based Tenet Healthcare Corporation, for a total of 23 years. Mr. Brown holds a BA in Chemistry from Valparaiso University and an MBA from the University of Florida.

W. Robert Dahl

W. Robert Dahl is a private investor with a focus on healthcare. He co-founded and served as the COO of Arrowhawk Capital Partners, an investment company, and was the VP of Strategic Business Development at Golden Pond Healthcare, Inc. Mr. Dahl also served as the head of Global Healthcare for the Carlyle Group, a leading private equity firm, and as co-head of healthcare investment banking in North America at Credit Suisse First Boston. He holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School.

Steven C. Wheelwright

Steven C. Wheelwright Senior Advisor Emeritus

Steven Charles Wheelwright was the 9th president of Brigham Young University–Hawaii from 2007 to 2015. Prior to that appointment, he served as both professor and senior associate dean at Harvard Business School. He holds a BA degree in mathematics from the University of Utah, and an MBA and Ph.D. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is the Author and Co-Author of numerous cases, articles, and more than 15 books in the areas of product development manufacturing strategy, operations management, and forecasting.

John D. Birkmeyer, M.D., Surgeon

John D. Birkmeyer, M.D., Surgeon Senior Adviser

Dr. Birkmeyer is Chief Clinical Officer at Sound Physicians, where he is focused on clinical quality, risk management, patient experience and cost-efficiency, and helps providers succeed in the value-based payment ecosystem. His research focuses on measuring and improving hospital outcomes, physician performance and cost-efficiency. Dr. Birkmeyer is a graduate of Harvard Medical School, and he completed his General Surgery residency and a fellowship in health services research at Dartmouth.

Michael Dahlweid, MD, PHD, Surgeon

Michael Dahlweid, MD, PHD, Surgeon Senior Advisor

Michael Dahlweid is the chief medical officer of Digital Solutions for GE Healthcare. Previously, Michael was the global chief medical officer for CSC Healthcare, and global chief medical officer and head of the Enterprise IT business unit for AGFA. Michael received his M.D. and Ph.D. in Germany, and his business education in the U.K. While actively seeing patients in emergency care, he also teaches healthcare information management and design thinking.

Paul Levy

Paul Levy Senior Advisor

Mr. Levy served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. from January 2002 to January 2011. He is a strong advocate for quality and safety improvement and transparency of clinical outcomes. He also served as Executive Dean for Administration at Harvard Medical School (HMS), where among other responsibilities he helped coordinate collaborative ventures between HMS and its affiliated hospitals.

Erich Kaeser

Erich Kaeser Senior Advisor

Erich Kaeser served as the Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Middle East, responsible for overseeing the Siemens business in 16 countries. His experience includes serving as Executive Advisor to the Siemens Board, and as an Independent Director of McDermott International Inc. Mr. Kaeser holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences.
